Join us for our in-depth Beginner’s Intro to start your Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga practice at our new home- Ashtanga Yoga Edinburgh.
It is suitable for:
• The complete beginner
• Those wanting to start a Mysore style Ashtanga practice
• Those new to Ashtanga- making a transition from other disciplines
• More established students keen to relearn foundational aspects of practice again.
In this course we introduce the basics of ashtanga vinyasa yoga: pranayama (breathing), vinyasa (movement breath system) and āsana (postures).
The intro includes a short introduction to yogic theory and philosophy which prepares the foundations for learning. Followed by detailed instruction on the fundamental movements of Surya Namaskar A, B and the beginning of the standing asanas in a pace and way relevant to just you.
The intensive finishes with a Q and A so that any questions about our continuing practice at AYE's Mysore program will be answered.
"Mysore" style lends itself to teaching 1:1 within a group setting so be assured that your teacher will meet you where you are at. These intensives will be capped at 8 people so individual instruction can be given. All abilities, experience and bodies welcome.
These Sunday intensives are run by our Mysore Program Director- Emma Isokivi.
